Thesis and Project Courses

At CGS, Thesis and Project courses represent pivotal elements of our academic programs. These courses are designed to provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical, research-oriented environments.

• Thesis Courses: Typically involve extensive research under the guidance of a faculty member, culminating in a thesis. These courses are critical for students pursuing in-depth study in their field of interest.

• Project Courses: Often include capstone projects and fieldwork, allowing students to engage in practical applications of their coursework, often spanning multiple disciplines.

Both types of courses are structured to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and research capabilities.

Continued Course (CC) Grade

• Certain courses like capstone projects or fieldwork extend over more than one semester due to their comprehensive scope.

• A “Continued Course” (CC) grade may be assigned once for these extended courses.

• If you receive a CC grade, you must register for the course in the following term. Failure to do so will result in the CC grade being changed to an F.

• Credits for these courses are accounted for in your workload and tuition fees only for the semester in which the course was initially registered.

Thesis Grading

The grading process for thesis work is a crucial component of your academic evaluation.

• Ongoing Thesis Grading: While your research is under preparation, you will receive a grade of “Satisfactory” (S) or “Unsatisfactory” (U).

• Final Thesis Assessment: The final grade (Pass/Fail) is not determined until after your thesis examination.
