Overview of Ph.D. Scholarships

At CGS, we offer scholarships to Kuwaiti Ph.D. students as an incentive to pursue their academic goals. These scholarships are designed to provide financial support and encourage scholarly excellence.

Eligibility and Scholarship Approval

1. Request and Approval Process:

   • Kuwaiti Ph.D. students can request scholarships, which are subject to the approval of the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies.

2. Conditions for Receiving a Scholarship:

   • To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. program.

   • Not have any other source of income from employment or other grants, except for grants from the University’s Research Administration to support graduate students.

Scholarship Duration and Value

• Duration of Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of thirty-six months.

• Monetary Value: The value of the scholarship is seven hundred and fifty Kuwaiti Dinars (KD 750) per month.

Academic Responsibilities and Scholarship Cancellation

• Assigned Tasks: The Chairman of the academic department may assign scholarship recipients tasks related to undergraduate teaching, for up to six (6) hours per week.

• Cancellation Conditions: The scholarship may be canceled based on the Academic Supervisor’s report, which must be approved by both the Program Committee and the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
