Transition to Regular Student Status
At CGS, we offer a flexible academic path for non-degree students who wish to transition to a regular degree program. This pathway is designed for those who have demonstrated academic commitment and success in their non-degree coursework and are now looking to pursue a full degree.
Eligibility Criteria for Transition
To be considered for regular student status, non-degree students must successfully complete at least 12 credits in required courses of a specific program.
A minimum overall average of 3.00 points on a 4.00 scale is required to demonstrate the student’s academic capability and readiness for the challenges of a degree program.
The period of study as a non-degree student should not exceed four semesters. This time limit ensures a focused approach to studies and a timely transition to degree status.
Courses in which the student has achieved a grade of 3.00 or higher are eligible to be counted towards the degree requirements.
These courses will also be factored into the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) upon their transition to a degree-seeking status, providing an academic head start in the degree program.
How to Transition
Interested non-degree students should consult with their Program Director to understand the specific requirements and procedures for transitioning to a regular student status. This process may include a review of academic performance, discussions on career goals, and planning for the remaining course requirements in the degree program. A formal request will have to be submitted to the CGS Student Affairs asking for the possibility of transfer.
