Master’s Admission Requirements

Our graduate programs are designed to foster academic excellence and professional development. To ensure a conducive learning environment, we have set forth the following admission requirements for prospective students.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, conferred by Kuwait University or another approved academic institution.

  • Minimum Academic Achievement: An overall average of at least 2.67 points on a 4.00 scale, or its equivalent, is required.

  • Program Conditions: Applicants must meet any additional criteria set by the College of Graduate Studies (CGS) and the specific program, which may include preliminary tests or extra courses.

  • Language of Instruction: Applicants must be proficient in the language of instruction for their chosen program. For programs taught in Arabic, proficiency in another language, as determined by the department, is required.

  • Notification from Employer: Employed applicants must submit a signed notification of program enrollment from their place of work.

  • No Prior Dismissal: Applicants should not have been previously dismissed from the intended program.

  • No Duplicate Graduate Diplomas: Applicants should not hold a Graduate Diploma from the same program.

  • Disciplinary Record: Applicants must not have faced disciplinary action at any academic institution.

Specific Exemptions

  • Medical and Dental Graduates: Recipients of bachelor’s degrees in medicine, surgery, or dentistry from Kuwait University, or equivalent degrees, are exempt from the “Minimum Academic Achievement” requirement for programs in related faculties.

  • Non-Degree Graduate Studies: Applicants who completed graduate courses at Kuwait University under the Non-Degree system may be exempt from the “Minimum Academic Achievement” if they have earned at least 12 credits with an average of 3.00 or higher. This is applicable if the study period did not exceed four semesters, with a possible extension of one additional semester upon the Dean’s approval.
