Course Registration

Course Registration, Addition, and Withdrawal

The course registration process is a critical step in your academic journey. It’s important to adhere to the specified registration periods set by the College of Graduate Studies to ensure a smooth progression through your program.

Course Registration
  • Mandatory Registration Periods: Students are required to register within the designated periods specified by the College of Graduate Studies.

  • Study Load Compliance: All students must adhere to the study load regulations as outlined in the by-laws.

  • Enrollment Suspension: Students may suspend their enrollment for any semester, but the total period of suspension must not exceed two semesters during the course of their studies. Exceeding this limit will result in cancellation of enrollment.

Course Addition

The addition of courses to your schedule offers flexibility in your study plan but requires adherence to specific guidelines:

  • Approval Requirement: To add a course, you must obtain approval from both the Course Instructor and the Program Director.

  • Study Load Consideration: Ensure that adding a course does not exceed the maximum study load permitted under the by-laws.

  • Designated Timeframes: Course additions must be completed within the times specified by the College of Graduate Studies.

  •

Withdrawal from Courses

Withdrawing from courses is an option available to students, but it must be done responsibly and within the College’s regulations:

  • Withdrawal Periods: Students are permitted to withdraw from one or more courses during the specified periods set by the College of Graduate Studies.

  • Conditions for Withdrawal:

    • For Registered Students: Withdrawal should occur within the designated periods unless there is a valid excuse accepted by the Course Instructor, the Program Director, and the College of Graduate Studies.

    • For Non-Registered Students: Students who are not registered during the semester may withdraw from the program at any time.

  • Workload Post-Withdrawal: After withdrawal, the student’s remaining workload should not fall below the minimum limit prescribed in the by-laws.

  • Impact on Enrollment Status: Withdrawing from all courses or any course during a semester will be considered as a cessation of registration for that semester.
