Scientific Missions

In the heart of academic advancement and scholarly exchange lies the invaluable opportunity for graduate students to embark on scientific missions—a journey not just to the forefront of global research but also to personal and professional growth. At the College of Graduate Studies, we believe in nurturing the curious minds of our students by supporting their participation in international conferences and workshops. Here’s how you can seize this extraordinary opportunity during your graduate studies:

Eligibility and How to Qualify

To ensure that this opportunity is both rewarding and fruitful, we’ve established a set of criteria for eligibility:

  1. Continuous Engagement: You must be enrolled on a regular, full-time basis in one of our graduate programs. This continuous engagement demonstrates your commitment and dedication to your academic journey.

  2. Academic Excellence: A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00 is required. This criterion highlights the importance of academic merit and ensures that our representatives on the global stage are among the best.

  3. Academic Progress: You should have successfully completed at least 15 course credits. This ensures that you have a solid foundation of knowledge in your field, which you can build upon and share during your mission.

  4. Faculty Endorsement: Your academic Supervisor must recommend you for the scientific mission, which then must be approved by the College of Graduate Studies.

Support and Benefits

Embarking on a scientific mission is an adventure that promises not only academic enrichment but also a broadening of your horizons. To support you on this journey:

  • Daily Allowance: A daily traveling allowance of thirty Kuwaiti Dinars [30 KD] will be provided to cover your expenses.

  • Participation Expenses and Airfare: The College of Graduate Studies will cover participation expenses and economy class air tickets.

Why Participate in a Scientific Mission?

Participating in a scientific mission opens a gateway to:

  • Global Networking: Connect with researchers, scholars, and professionals from around the world, building a network that spans continents.

  • Knowledge Exchange: Share your research, learn about cutting-edge developments in your field, and bring back insights that can enrich your academic and research projects.

  • Personal Growth: Step out of your comfort zone, develop new skills, and gain confidence as you present and debate ideas on an international stage.

  • Enhancing Your CV: Participation in such missions is a testament to your commitment to your field, making you a more attractive candidate for future academic and professional opportunities.
