Graduate Admission Categories
Our graduate programs offer two main types of admission: Regular and Provisional. Each category has distinct criteria and conditions as outlined below:
Regular Admission
-
Eligibility: Applicants qualify for regular admission if they meet all the requirements specified in the Master’s, PhD, or Diploma Admission sections.
-
Diploma Programs: Admission to graduate diploma programs is regular only. Applicants must fulfill all stated requirements prior to admission.
Provisional Admission
Provisional admission may be granted under specific conditions:
-
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants who meet all regular admission requirements but are recommended by the Program Committee to complete additional courses.
-
Course Requirements: Up to 15 credit hours of additional courses may be required. These credits do not count towards the study program requirements, and grades obtained are not included in the overall average calculation.
-
First Semester Registration: Provisionally admitted students must register for all required additional courses in the first semester, adhering to normal study load regulations. In exceptional cases, with approval from the Program Committee and the College of Graduate Studies, some courses may be deferred to the second semester.
-
Conversion to Regular Status: If the student achieves an overall average of 3.00 or higher in these courses, their admission status changes to regular. Failure to meet this requirement results in academic dismissal from the program.
