Article-Based Thesis Requirements

The Article-Based Thesis at Kuwait University allows students to highlight their scholarly contributions through peer-reviewed publications.

Publication Requirements

• Master’s Thesis: Must have at least one article published or accepted for publication.

• Doctoral Dissertation: Must have at least two articles published or accepted for publication. Additional unpublished works can be added to the dissertation as a manuscript and included in an article format.

Accepte Journals

• All accepted or published articles must be in the list of journals approved for faculty promotion by Kuwait University.

Publishing with other authors

• Doctoral candidates must be listed as first authors on all articles included in their dissertation.

• Master’s candidates must be listed as the first authors on all articles, unless their supervisor is the first author, in which case, the student must be listed as the second author.

• Each article may be used in only one thesis or dissertation.
